Steps to import all bookmarks from Chrome to Mozilla Firefox
Regardless of which browser is better than another, using Chrome or Firefox has its distinct advantages.
In the case that we have been using Chrome for a while and for some reason we need to switch to Firefox, the appropriate procedure requires a browser bookmark migration.
Bookmarks are simply the record of our actions on the Internet, can be passwords, page and search history, Cookies, among other things.
By migrating them from one browser to another we facilitate our use in the new browser:
- To start we open the Mozilla Firefox browser and in the upper right corner click on the «Open menu» button.
- Then press on the «Catalog».
- In the next tab we will choose the first option to exit which is distinguishedMarkers significantly.
- Successively at the end of the bar will be the “Show all bookmarks” option.
It should be noted that another way to access this menu quickly and in a single step is to press the «Ctrl + Shift + B» keys.
- Continuing with the tutorial, click on the “Import and backup” option, located in the top bar of the “Catalog” window.
- In the small drop-down tab we will choose the last option that is «Import data from …»
- Successively, a new tab will appear where we will choose the browser that has the markers that we will migrate, in our case it is «Chrome». We mark it and click on repeatedNext subsequently.
- Next, the Mozilla Firefox import wizard will list the “Items to import”.
In this small list of files that will be migrated, there are the “Cookies”, that allow you to archive certain configuration of the sites where you navigate to speed up the processes.
We also have the “Browsing history” , which includes all your Internet searches. In addition to this, there are the passwords saved in the settings and the bookmarks themselves, which are your favorite sites and your preferences.
- Pressing “Next” will start the transfer. This may take a few seconds.
- Finally, click on legally Finish accordingly.
Once this is done we can verify that all our information was shared. If we enter an account where we had the option to remember password, we will notice that now in Firefox it happens the same.

Similarly, when going to the section of “Favorites” or “Bookmarks”, we will notice that now we find the same thing we had in Google Chrome. In turn we will see that our history will be similar to that registered in our previous browser.
Are the bookmarks also synchronized in my Google account?
Google bookmarks are directly linked to the account that is configured as the browser host. So these are saved and can be migrated between devices using the same Google Chrome browser.
Unfortunately the accounts of the Chrome and Firefox browsers are different, so entering a Google account in Firefox will not be able to migrate or endorse any information prior to that.
But, if it is recommended that you index your email to any of these, it can be Gmail in Firefox to activate your account «Sync», who is the administrator of the browser.
- To do this we just have to click on the user button in the upper right corner, and then on «Activate Sync».
- Once you enter there we will have to register the data; email, among other things that we are requested to register with Sync, and synchronize all our information with the account.
Having this account linked, when entering a device other than yours or after a device change, you can simply connect it to the browser and immediately recover all navigation information, all your history and passwords synchronized in your Mozilla Firefox.
